I’m back, and honestly, it feels better the second time around.
For two years, I lived on Fiverr. I finished over 100 projects, kept a perfect 5-star streak, and built relationships with clients who still check in today. But then, I stepped away. I hit pause on the freelance life for a while.
Coming back is always a gamble. You wonder if you’ve lost your edge or if the market has moved on without you.
I just got my answer.
I recently finished my first project on Upwork. The result? A 100% satisfaction rating and a client who has already signed on for more work. It’s a great feeling, but it’s not just about the “Success” notification or the paycheck.
It Was Never Just About the Money
If you’re only in this for the cash, you’ll burn out. I do this because I actually enjoy the puzzle. I like the challenge of taking a client’s problem—something that’s stalling their growth—and building a solution that clears the path.
That passion for helping people grow has turned into something bigger than a solo career.
Building a Circle, Not Just a Career
Lately, I’ve started doing something different. When my plate gets too full with long-term clients, I don’t just say “no.” I pass those opportunities to my friends.
It’s created this incredible cycle:
- Clients get a team of vetted, talented people who deliver exactly what they need.
- My friends get a steady stream of income and a chance to prove their skills.
- I get to focus on solving high-level problems while watching the people around me succeed.
